Lots of work for moving such little dustApr 23, 2011
By JG This is great for spreading small amounts of dust around a small area. Unfortunately, I have a large property and wanted to go outside the perimeter with some diatomaceous earth to mitigate the ticks that invade our lawn from the forest. I found myself having to tap or shake the spreader frequently to get the dust down the chute. The crank is tiresome to turn for more than 15 minutes at a time. It does do a good job of dust dispersal over the area of interest, but it took so long to get enough on the ground to treat the ticks that I wouldn't buy it again. I now just use a coffee can with small holes. It's probably great for dusted insecticides due to the smaller amount needed for application.
